ARCOmadrid 2026

Artists:

Uta Bekaia, Rusudan Khizanishvili

Booth: OP905

For ARCOmadrid 2026, Window Project is pleased to present works by Rusudan Khizanishvili and Uta Bekaia. The presentation brings together the personal mythologies of the artists alongside their observations of human behaviour and the natural world, presenting narrative as a living form of ecological knowledge. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramic bas-reliefs, the works consider what persists over time: gestures, rituals, and symbolic forms that record human action, environmental cycles, and the interwoven rhythms of life.

Central to this investigation are the bodily experience of making and perceiving, and the materiality of the works - how pigment, clay, paper, and form carry both history and presence. These physical engagements provide immediacy and intimacy, while also revealing the limitations inherent in human perception, action, and memory. Each artist treats memory and myth as active forces, transmitted, transformed, and renewed through the singular experience of the individual.

Emerging from this constellation of practices is a space where human experience and ecological systems intersect, and where creation and destruction coexist within ongoing cycles. The works show how myths and personal narratives can guide reflection, care, and coexistence, suggesting that acts of remembering - whether of ancestral knowledge, collective rituals, or intimate stories - offer pathways to regeneration and balance between human and natural worlds. By emphasising bodily engagement, material presence, and perceptual constraints, the exhibition enables sustained consideration of these mythologies, the passage of time, and the fragile yet resilient nature of life.
