NADA Miami 2025
Artist: Tamara K.E.
Booth: C203
For NADA Miami 2025, Window Project is pleased to present a solo booth by Tamara K.E., featuring mixed media works on paper from her ongoing series Revisiting Fear (2014-), as well as a painting from the series Cool Girls Die Twice (2025), alongside a large-scale charcoa triptych titled Profound Tale and A Short Résumé (2025) from the series Remnants of the Glaring Day (2022-).
Over the past two decades, K.E. has shifted from early investigations into socio-critical conceptual painting toward an exploration of cultural memory, transitional states, and the visual architectures of the “unknown future.” Through a dynamic interplay of painting, drawing, and digital techniques, her compositions probe thresholds of dissolution, entropy, and evolving visual paradigms.
Each work unfolds as a coded visual field where image, trace, and fragment coexist without hierarchy. These fields, both gestural and systematic, evoke unseen forces: historical residues, ghosted symbols, cultural codes, and data noise. The artist’s lexicon evolves across the visual memory-as-method, where meaning remains provisional, fragmented, and open-ended. Philosopher Boris Groys has described K.E.’s associative method as “Dadaistic,” highlighting her ability to stage a “free and slightly dreamy game of associations.” Her work resists linearity or resolution, instead proposing a ludic yet rigorous system of assembly, where references, materials, and cultural signifiers converge in a suspended field that reflects contemporary debates around memory and the fluidity of identity.
Seen through a distinctly feminine lens, K.E.’s practice challenges dominant visual paradigms by foregrounding alternative modes of perception and experience. Her work navigates the intersections of memory and identity to disrupt fixed narratives, offering a space where histories, both collective and personal, can be reimagined and reconfigured, opening pathways toward the “unknown future.”
