WINDOW PROJECT
Window Project is a contemporary art gallery based in Tbilisi, Georgia, presenting works by Georgian and international artists. The gallery is primarily focused on supporting young and mid-career Georgian artists while also highlighting representatives of a “forgotten” older generation, thereby contributing to an ongoing dialogue between past and present artistic practices.
The gallery’s first initiative was launched in 2013 in an alternative exhibition space: the empty window display of the Pantomime Theatre on Rustaveli Avenue. This project aimed to support local artists working within the post-Soviet context, featuring young and mid-career practitioners alongside internationally recognised figures. The underlying concept of the window-display gallery was to make contemporary art accessible to a broad public.
In 2018, Window Project opened a new exhibition space, inviting artists and curators to develop a wide range of projects. The gallery remains committed to building long-term collaborations with artists, public and private institutions, and the wider community of art enthusiasts, with the aim of fostering an engaged and thoughtful artistic environment grounded in shared values and aspirations.
